Textile Recovery Challenge a Success!

recycling
Thanks to everyone who participated in the Textile Recovery Challenge. Brackett collected an impressive amount of textiles (overflowing bin pictured)! The final weight comparison for the competition and prize winner will be announced the week of April 10th, after all schools have completed their challenge weeks.

If you're wondering where you can bring your textiles in any condition on a regular basis, here are some options:

-Good Will truck in the Stop and Shop parking lot
-Planet Aid bins on Mass Ave (like the ones across from Trader Joe’s)
-Second Chances bin in the Whole Foods parking lot
-Red Cross bins around town

All of these places sort out the items between those in nicer condition that are given to families in need and the old, torn, stained items (including stuffed animals) that are recycled/sold wholesale which, in turn support the work of these organizations.

Help Brackett Win the All-School Textile Recovery Challenge!

This week, Brackett is collecting textiles in the big blue cart in the front lobby.

All Arlington public schools are competing to collect the most textiles and receive a prize and town recognition! Clothes, shoes, bedding, towels, stuffed animals, etc are welcome in any condition (worn, torn, stained is fine!). Please bag all items and place them in the collection bin.

The challenge ends Friday, March 24th at 1pm.
