Brackett Bank Update!

Brackett School Savings Bank is turning 30!

In honor of the bank’s 30th year in operation at Brackett School, there will be school assembly on Friday, February 26, to celebrate this momentous anniversary.  Our sponsor, Cambridge Savings Bank, will be present to speak about banking and the value of learning how to save.  Also, fifth grade students who volunteer at the bank and parent volunteers will be recognized for their service.  At the end of the ceremony, there will be a penny guess contest where the penny jar will be visiting classes.  Students will have the opportunity take a guess of the amount of pennies in the jar with one winner receiving a $50 American Express gift certificate from Cambridge Savings Bank.

What Can a Green Team Do for Your School?

Our children have a lot to say about the environment. Their interests, opinions and energy can help a school keep gardens watered over the summer, inspire litter cleanups, increase collection of recyclable materials and even lead fundraisers that save energy use and expense.

Ask your questions and learn more at one or both of the upcoming information sessions for school-aged students, parents and teachers at the Robbins Library in the 2nd floor conference room:
Monday, February 29 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM; or
Monday, March 7 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM
Facilitated by Charlotte Milan, DPW Recycling Coordinator, and Rachel Oliveri, Brackett Green Initiatives Group

It would be great to have Brackett parents present to share our experiences and gather some new ideas for our Green Team!
