Brackett's Second Annual Culture and Creativity Night is soon - please sign up for this amazing, school-wide event!

When: Thursday, November 15, 2018

Time: 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.

The Brackett Community is a wonderful mix of people. We identify ourselves in so many ways -- by language, abilities, family structure, ethnicity, and much more. This diversity of cultural identity enriches our school. Join us for an evening to celebrate the diversity of our community through “museum tables,” arts and crafts, music, STEM related activities, and a sampling of diverse cuisines from around the world!

Grandparents, older siblings, aunts/uncles are encouraged to participate too!

Please sign up HERE to host a "museum" (aka table) or a craft station. We're also looking for people to share their music and food. We'll also need hands for behind the scenes. There's a role for everyone!

Keep in mind that there are many sources of culture. You may choose to share the culture of your family's countries of origin (this can go back many generations!), but you might also teach us about another group, language or shared history that is meaningful to you.

Some examples are:

• Is one of your family members blind or deaf? Teach us Braille or Sign Language!

• Are your grandparents from a different part of the United States? Share with us the food and music of their hometown.

• Do you participate in an activity or club with its own language, clothing or music (like Break Dancing, Dungeons and Dragons or skateboarding)? Show us what you've learned about it and why you love it!

If you are interested in sharing any part of your cultural identity please do!  All are welcome!  Please contact Caitlin Sweeney ( or Nicole Schwartz ( with any questions.
